Adriaan Oosthuizen is a South African Photographer based in Cape Town. A camera became his choice instrument to give vent to a creativity that was inherited.
Originally a trained conservationist he tried and sometimes succeeded in capturing the spectacle of nature around him. Many years and much learned from other photographers had to pass before he took up professional photography and applied himself in the fields of fashion, food, décor, portraits, fine art and nature. He has found success in obtaining commissions that allowed him to travel far and wide.
He also has competed in the global world of photography by winning a place in the prestigious ‘Milk’ awards hosted in New-Zealand. He also won awards at the South African Fuji Pro Foto awards, amongst others the gold award for Nature Photography. His work has been included in a travelling exhibition that was hosted in Sydney, New York and London.
He has to date successfully illustrated numerous food books and he keeps on producing images that become published in the top South African magazines. His work can also been seen in international publications like the New York Times and L’EQUIPE.
He takes photography work seriously whilst also trying to remain rooted to the earth in a humble manner. He tries to live a simple life having a family and raising a son.
